The traditional way of distilling ‘aguardiente’ in Aragon has been preserved to modern times, benefiting since time immemorial from the rich variety of aromatic plants and wild fruits that grow in the area. This strong liquor is made by distilling wine in an alembic still and its the base of a wide variety of liquors. Another liquor – ‘orujo’ – is made by distilling grape remains.
